AgGeorgia Farm Credit is proud to announce that Milly Market has been awarded a $2,000 grant through the 2026 AgGeorgia Farmers Market Grant Program to support efforts that expand access to fresh, locally grown food and strengthen local agriculture in central Georgia.
Now entering its fourth year, Milly Market is a farmers market held in Downtown Milledgeville that serves Baldwin, Jones, Hancock, Washington, and Wilkinson counties. The family-friendly market features local farmers and food producers, live music, interactive art, and partnerships with community organizations focused on improving food access and community health.
Through its partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia, Milly Market participates in the organization's Fresh for Less program, which allows SNAP/EBT shoppers to stretch their food dollars when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables. The program effectively doubles the value of eligible SNAP purchases, making healthy, locally grown food more affordable for families while supporting local farmers and food producers.
Grant funds will be used to expand food access through pop-up markets in underserved areas of Baldwin County, offer educational workshops focused on growing food using sustainable and low-cost methods, and recruit additional farmers and gardeners to participate in the market. These efforts will help connect more residents with fresh food while creating additional opportunities for local producers.

AgGeorgia Farm Credit's Farmers Market Grant Program provides funding to farmers markets and agricultural organizations throughout the association's 79-county service territory. The program supports projects that improve market operations, increase access to local food, and strengthen rural communities across Georgia.
