AgGeorgia Farm Credit is proud to announce the Tifton Farmers Market as a recipient of a $2,000 Farmers Market Grant, supporting the market’s continued efforts to connect local producers with consumers while strengthening South Georgia’s agricultural economy.
The Tifton Farmers Market is a vibrant community gathering place that prioritizes agricultural producers and food vendors, giving residents and visitors access to fresh, locally grown produce and locally made food products. The market hosts approximately 25 vendors each Saturday and welcomes between 300 and 500 shoppers each week throughout its spring and fall seasons.
AgGeorgia’s Farmers Market Grant will help the market expand its reach and enhance the visitor experience through improved directional signage, educational cooking demonstrations featuring ingredients sourced directly from market vendors, and recipe cards that encourage shoppers to support local producers. Grant funds will also help create a more engaging children’s area, providing family-friendly activities that allow parents more time to explore the market and support vendors.
Additionally, the grant will promote participation in the Georgia Grown program by funding a raffle for a one-year Georgia Grown membership for a market vendor and purchasing materials that highlight the market’s participation in the Georgia Grown Trail.
