AgGeorgia Farm Credit is proud to announce that Hall County Farmers Market has been awarded a $2,000 grant through the 2026 AgGeorgia Farmers Market Grant Program to support marketing, signage, and outreach efforts that will help strengthen the market and increase visibility for local farmers.
Hall County Farmers Market has served as a cornerstone of the local agricultural community for more than five decades, connecting consumers with fresh, locally grown food while providing valuable marketing opportunities for area farmers. Located in Gainesville, the market serves Hall County and 10 surrounding counties, featuring approximately 50 vendors, including 28 agricultural producers.
The market is committed to supporting local agriculture and maintaining a strong farmer-focused atmosphere, with more than half of its vendors offering agricultural products. In addition to local farmers, Hall County Farmers Market partners with the Hall County Public Library and Hall County Master Gardeners, providing free educational resources, seeds, and gardening advice to visitors.
The grant funds will be used to purchase reusable signage and promotional materials to increase market awareness, attract additional customers, and create more opportunities for local producers, including young and beginning farmers.
The market's leadership sees the grant as an investment in the future of local agriculture and the farmers who depend on direct-to-consumer sales opportunities.
"Our goal is to help local farmers succeed while making it easier for residents to access fresh, locally grown food," said Lynn Pimenta, Hall County Farmers Market President. "These funds will allow us to improve our signage, marketing, and outreach efforts so we can attract more customers, support more agricultural vendors, and continue growing a market to benefit farmers and our community."
By investing in long-term promotional materials rather than one-time expenses, Hall County Farmers Market plans to continue building awareness of the market, supporting farm businesses, and helping consumers connect with the people who grow their food. The enhancements are expected to strengthen the market's presence in the community and create additional opportunities for agricultural producers across northeast Georgia.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit's Farmers Market Grant Program provides funding to farmers markets and agricultural organizations throughout the association's 79-county service territory. The program supports projects that improve market operations, increase access to local food, and strengthen rural communities across Georgia.
