The Honorable Glenn “GT” Thompson
Chairman
Committee on Agriculture

The Honorable Angie Craig
Ranking Member
Committee on Agriculture
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Chairman Thompson and Ranking Member Craig,
AgGeorgia Farm Credit supports the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 and urges the Committee to advance a Farm Bill this year. While reconciliation addressed several priorities last year, many credit policies remain anchored to 2018. The Credit title in this bill takes meaningful steps to modernize FSA loan limits and program eligibility, and it appropriately empowers Farm Credit institutions to help finance essential community facilities that underpin rural vitality.
As you finalize the package, we respectfully urge inclusion of two additional, bipartisan measures that are especially important to Farm Credit institutions and the producers we serve:
• The Farm Credit Adjustment Act, to provide exam cycle flexibility for well managed, low risk Farm Credit institutions, allowing them to focus more resources on lending and producer service.
• The FARM Home Loans Act, to modernize rural housing eligibility and clarify financing for accessory dwelling units, addressing acute workforce and intergenerational housing needs.
With commodity pressure, interest rate sensitivity, and rural service demands persisting, completing a modernized Farm Bill—and securing these two improvements—will materially strengthen credit availability and community capacity this year.
Thank you for your leadership and continued commitment to America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.
Sincerely,
James R. (Rob) Crain
