Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County Ribbon Cutting

January 21, 2026

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County celebrated the completion of a new community garden last year at its Commerce Club location, made possible in part by a $5,000 grant from AgGeorgia Farm Credit’s Community Mission Fund.

The project includes raised garden beds, a pollinator garden, and a meditation sandbox, creating a multi-use outdoor space designed to benefit both youth and the broader community. Youth members and staff will help manage the garden, ensuring it serves as a hands-on learning environment for agriculture education, sustainability, and self-sufficiency.

“This project is more than just a garden,” said Maddison Dean, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County. “It’s a place where our youth can learn, grow, and develop healthy habits while giving back to the community. The positive impact will be felt for many years to come.”

“Seeing projects like this come to life is exactly why the Community Mission Fund was created,” said AgGeorgia’s Marketing Director, Corey Cottle. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County has not only built a garden, but a resource that promotes wellness, education, and community connection.”
